Overview

This management position exists only in the Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Division.  Assists the Residence Manager in supervising and coordinating activities of assigned staff.  Assists in the personnel management, fiscal operations, inventory management, residential services, safety, and welfare of residents, training personnel, directing and coordinating the activities of the staff, and administration of the residence.  Within the Residence Manager’s guidelines, establishes clinical procedures and policies for residents and ensures that residence operations meet or exceed agency and regulatory guidelines.

 

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

 

  • Assists in Providing Clinical Services
  • Assists in Directing and Supervising Personnel
  • Assists in Maintaining Environment and Property Accountability
  • Assists in Providing Quality Assurance Oversight
  • Assists in Assuring Consumer and Family Involvement
  • Assists in Fostering Community Relation
  • Knowledge of the policies and procedures of OMRDD, as well as state and federal regulations as they apply to the care and treatment of the developmentally disabled.
  •  Knowledge of active treatment programs as they related to the developmentally disabled.
  •  Knowledge of sound supervisory practices; ability to lead a multi-disciplinary staff of professionals and paraprofessionals and make decisions quickly in a variety of situations.
  •  Knowledge of the characteristics of the mentally retarded and developmentally disabled; knowledge of active treatment and individual program plans.
  •  Ability to manage multiple projects, delegate tasks, and check on the completion of assigned tasks.
  •  Ability to manage resources which includes money, material, time, and people.
  •  Serves as a role model to staff and residents.
  •  Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

Qualifications

High School diploma or GED plus 3 years experience providing direct services to people with developmental disabilities that includes supervisory experience.  Bachelors or Associates in Human Services field may be substituted for up to 2 years of the general experience.  AMAP, SCIP-R, CPR/First Aid required.  Clean, valid NYS driver’s license
