Overview

JOB SUMMARY:

 

Under the general supervision of Associate CFO, this position is responsible for the overall day-to-day management of the general ledger staff. Supervise audit preparation for ICL and subsidiaries.  The goal is to contribute to keep the accounting and financial processes of the company up to standard and ensure accurate financial reporting and control.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

  • Supervise audit preparation to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Supervise finance training to employees and maintain finance policy & procedure manual.
  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets, and Consolidated Financial Reports.

  • Interacts with both internal and external auditors by providing the required documentation and ensuring that the proper information is maintained for historical purposes.
  • Supporting most aspects of accounting management.
  • Assisting in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices.
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements.
  • Other related job functions as maybe assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

 

BSc/BA in Finance, Accounting or relevant field is preferred. MBA or Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is a plus. Proven experience as assistant controller or other similar position for a minimum of five years, preferably in the social service sector. Solid knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and regulations. Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes (budgeting, financial closure, reporting etc.). Understanding of data analysis and forecasting. Working knowledge of MS Office (especially excel) and accounting software (preferably Dynamics). Well-organized with ability to prioritize. Very good communication and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

 

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, written communication, presentation and organizational skills.
  • Intermediate to Excellent PC skills, including MS Office experience, including Excel (spreadsheets), Word (word processing) & PowerPoint (presentations) and accounting software such as Dynamic and Anasazi
  • Ability to multitask, consistently meets deadlines, and demonstrates strong time management skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
  • Supporting most aspects of accounting management
  • Assisting in the formulation of internal controls and policies to comply with legislation and established best practices
  • Assisting in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
  • Ability to understand and adhere to all corporate compliance and other regulatory requirements governing the functions of the position
