Overview

ICL is looking for psychiatrists and psychiatric nurse practitioners to join the Bronx ACT Team.

ICL is a leading community behavioral health agency offering a diverse and expanding continuum of services, including:

  • outpatient clinics dually licensed to provide behavioral and primary health care
  • assertive community treatment (ACT) teams and ACT-like models to provide mobile services to people with high behavioral health needs
  • a Personal Recovery Oriented Service (PROS) program promoting participants’ achievement of vocational, housing and relationship goals
  • shelter-based behavioral and primary health care
  • an array of supported housing models, from shelter to permanent housing, and including housing for people with developmental disabilities
  • health home (HH) and home and community based services (HCBS) – new models of care

ICL is a recognized leader in developing integrated health services in community behavioral health settings, and is developing capacity to provide trauma-informed collaborative care in primary care settings as well. This is an exciting time of change in our field, and psychiatrists are needed to offer leadership in developing best practices. Innovative programs at ICL include the Diabetes Co-morbidity Initiative, a self-management program implemented in 19 behavioral health agencies in NYC, and the Emerson-Davis Family Center, a unique housing program for parents with mental illness working on reunification with their children.Salary is very competitive. Specialty board certification and Spanish language skills are a plus. Our psychiatrists must demonstrate a recovery-oriented, trauma-informed and integrated approach to working with individuals and families.

ICL supports candidates interested in participating in the Columbia or NYU public psychiatry fellowship programs as well.
