Job Summary: The Controller of Revenue Cycle Management is responsible for the management of staff and revenue cycle functions related to contracts, grants and fee-for-service billing. Functions include billing, managing and collecting on accounts receivable, cash position, cash posting/journal entries, and supervision of multiple Supervisory staff.  Position reports to CFO.

Salary commensurate with experience.



Core Functions:

  • Responsible for the timely billing of claims on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis.
  • Follow-up on collections of accounts receivable.
  • Prepare all entries for monthly close.
  • Prepare monthly AR schedule for the CFO.
  • Prepare other revenue related schedule for internal and external stakeholder.
  • Provides day to day management of staff performing revenue cycle related functions.
  • Responsible for the achievement of Accounts receivable and Bad Debt reserve goals.
  • Implements procedures to minimize claim denial rate, bad debt, improves cash flow, bad debt reserve reduction, and ensures industry standard clean claim submission rate.
  • Enhances and standardizes dept. work-flow processes throughout the revenue cycle to assist in achieving consistency in performance, including development of policy and procedures.
  • Ensures all policies, procedures and initiatives are handled in compliance with HIPAA privacy and security regulations. 



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Healthcare preferred, or equivalent experience; MBA preferred
  • 5+ years progressive experience, and 3+ years Management experience in a Revenue cycle Department.
  • Must have strong healthcare provider billing background. Third party payor billing experience with payors nationally.
  • Experience with government contract billing (DHS, OPWDD, DOHMH, HRA, OMH, etc.)
  • EHR billing system experience. Microsoft Suite experience (Outlook, Excel, Pwpt, etc).
  • Strong Communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of personnel.
  • Professionalism and mature sense of accountability.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly.
  • Ability to research and seek out information.
  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing.
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to remain flexible and respond to changing priorities while remaining focused on results.
