  • Overview



    We are seeking a compassionate, caring, dynamic and experienced Program Director (PD) to oversee the operational and administrative operations of our Residential Programs in the Bronx, NY.  A minimum of 3 years Residential Management is required to be considered for this position.


    The Area Director will supervise Clinical Staff including but not limited to: Qualified Intellectual Disabilities Professionals (QIDP), Residential Habilitation Specialists,  Behavior Intervention Specialists (In conjunction with I/DD’s Clinical Supervisor), Nurses (in conjunction with the Associate Director of Nursing) and Independent Contractors/Clinicians. I/DD Division’s Residence Managers, Assistant Residence Managers, Shift Supervisors Skillbuilders, Medical Specialists.





    a. Program Supervision and Oversight:

    1. Provide supervision of daily operations of all I/DD Division’s Facilities.
    2. Supervise all Residence Managers and Clinical Staff.
    3. Create and Implement effective oversight systems for all programs supervised to ensure quality consumer care and conformance to NYS OPWDD regulatory standards as well as agency policies and procedures.
    4. Develop and implement effective Plans of Corrective Action in response to Internal, State and Federal programming and fiscal audits.  
    5. Monitor staffing to ensure staffing plans meet the needs of consumers served.
    6. Monitor consumer accounts and residence funds.
    7. Conduct Physical Plant and Fire Safety Equipment Inspections and ensure all Life Safety Hazards are immediately addressed.
    8. Provide Oversight and administration of all clinical services and activities within the programs supervised.
    9. Under the supervision of the Senior Vice President, I/DD Services Division, monitor ongoing fiscal status of all Programs supervised.
    10. 10. Participate in activities related to ensuring that the division operates in a fiscally sound manner.


    b. Program Planning and Development:

    1. In conjunction with the Senior Vice President, I/DD Services Division liaise with officials of the DDSOs and OPWDD regional offices to plan, develop and execute improvements in the existing OPWDD division as well as new initiatives.
    2. Participate in the strategic planning process for the I/DD Services Division.


    c. Incident Management:

    1. Monitor consumer incident trends and implement effective corrective actions.
    2. Ensure that all consumer incidents and allegations are reported in a timely manner.
    3. Ensure that incident reports are forwarded to the Senior Vice President, I/DD Services for review and signature.
    4. Participate in and attend Incident Review Committee meetings on a monthly or as needed basis.  Ensure committee recommendations are addressed.


    d. Other duties as assigned


    Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree (Master’s preferred) in human services or related field (Social Work, psychology, nursing, public administration, etc.).   A minimum of 3 years residential management experience in I/DD field.
