    Please join us to learn about ICL employment opportunities at ICL’s newest shelter, Eldert Lane, is a 104 bed transitional residence seeking to fill over 40 full-time positions.


    When:   November 15-16 & November 29-30

    Time:    9am - 5pm

    ICL will be opening 104 bed transitional residence for homeless adult women with serious mental illness, located at 74 Eldert Lane, Brooklyn, NY 11208, on the Brooklyn Queens border easily accessible by the subway, buses and major highways. This specialized shelter program will be modeled after ICL’s highly successful Tillary St. Shelter, which serves the same target population.

    • ICL shelter staff will be available 24/7 to welcome a new client and conduct an immediate, basic intake that focuses on the woman’s immediate health and safety needs  
    • Eldert Lane staff will be available for ongoing counseling and guidance for participation in activities and treatment planning toward their success. 
    • From initial contact through all phases of living in the shelter and transitioning to community housing, the Eldert Lane shelter team will take a trauma-informed, person centered, recovery orientated, and an empowerment-oriented approach.
    • Our shelter teams will be specifically trained in engagement strategies that foster autonomy and self-determination.
    • Our goal at the new Eldert Lane shelter is impart hope, as well as confidence that they can improve their housing situation and mental/physical health. Housing is at the heart of the shelter’s services, as such, all service planning is focused on the resident’s discharge from the shelter and successful transition.
