  • Overview

    Under the general supervision of the Assistant Controller, this position is responsible for maintenance and posting of entries to the general ledgers for ICL and its subsidiaries. The GL Staff Accountant is also responsible for assisting with the preparation of financial audit documentation and the informational returns required for ICL and the subsidiaries ensuring they are prepared/performed accurately and filed within required deadlines.

    • Preparation of journal entries to the general ledger for  payroll, credit card purchases, cash transactions and month end accruals for ICL and its subsidiaries
    • Preparation of expense account analysis in the general ledger, including personal services and OTPS Accounts
    • Maintain fixed asset accounts with the ability to analyze, review, calculate depreciation and record entries to the general ledger
    • Complete 941 reconciliations on a quarterly basis for subsidiaries assigned
    • Analysis of balance sheet accounts including prepaid assets, accrued expenses and liability accounts.
    • Assist with the month end financial statement closing for ICL and subsidiaries
    • Interacts with both internal and external auditors by providing the required documentation and ensuring that the proper documentation is maintained for historical purposes.
    • Assist with the preparation of audited financial statements for ICL and subsidiaries in accordance with GAAP.
    • Assist the Controller with all special projects or tasks assigned


    A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required. A minimum of 3 years of experience in non-profit accounting preferred.


        • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
        • Excellent interpersonal communication, written communication, presentation and organizational skills
        • Intermediate to Excellent PC skills, including MS Office experience, including Excel (spreadsheets), Word (word processing) & PowerPoint (presentations) and accounting software such as Solomon and Anasazi
        • Ability to multitask, consistently meet deadlines, and demonstrate strong time management skills.
        •  Ability to communicate orally and in writing with vendors, agency staff, and the public in face-to-face, one-on-one settings; in group settings; and over a telephone. 
        • Ability to work cooperatively with others.
        • Ability to  understand and adhere to  all corporate compliance and other regulatory requirements governing the functions of the position
